Process

The Precision Painting Process

  • 01

    Floors and furniture covered

    No loose drop cloths. We protect floors properly: builder's paper, Ram Board and adhesive carpet film, taped, sealed and swept daily. Full plastic wrap for belongings, Zip-Walls to isolate work zones, and Air Cushion Devices for heavy furniture.

  • 02

    Surfaces repaired first

    Cracks filled, dents and nail pops patched, water damage sealed before any paint goes on. Walls that move get mesh tape, not just filler.

  • 03

    Dust-free sanding

    Festool Planex 2 on a HEPA extractor, with a light held at a low angle so every ridge shows before we paint over it. Around 95% of the dust never reaches the air.

  • 04

    Primer, then two coats

    Walls vacuumed, then a primer chosen for the surface (bonding primer over old oil paint, stain-blocker over water marks), then two coats of Sherwin-Williams or Benjamin Moore on top.

  • 05

    The founder's walkthrough

    Eugene checks the job with you before the invoice, in daylight and under lamps. Anything on the list gets fixed before we pack up.

The Founder's Standard

Eleven years of finishing work, seven of them in Europe

Eugene Zakusylo trained in Ukraine, where seven years of restoration work meant old plaster, original trim and finishes that had to match what was already there. Four years on Canadian sites since then covered the rest: framing tolerances, local building practice, the paints that hold up in this climate. He still quotes every job himself and walks every job before the invoice, so the person who set the price is the person who answers for the finish.
